Humidifying
The humidifier and recirculation fan bring the chamber up to the relative humidity setpoint before any fuming begins, so the print residue is properly conditioned. The hotplate stays off until conditions are right.
Develop latent prints on non-porous evidence in a fully automated, monitored and documented cycle. The CA-PRO controls humidity, temperature, contact time and purge from a colour touchscreen, and records every run against a case number.
Latent print development on non-porous evidence. Police forces and fingerprint bureaux, accredited forensic laboratories, evidence recovery units, and forensic teaching and training.
Superglue fuming develops latent prints because cyanoacrylate vapour polymerises onto the residue left by a finger. It works, but it is sensitive: get the humidity or the contact time wrong and you get weak, over-developed or inconsistent results on evidence you may only get one chance with.
The CA-PRO takes that guesswork away. Load the evidence on the adjustable hanging rods, place the cyanoacrylate on the hotplate, enter the case details and start the cycle. From there the chamber controls the humidifier, hotplate, circulation fan, door lock and purge automatically, and logs what actually happened.
Every chamber ships with the full control and recording system.
Start the cycle and the chamber works through humidifying, vapourising and purging on its own, showing you exactly what is running and where it is up to at every moment.
The humidifier and recirculation fan bring the chamber up to the relative humidity setpoint before any fuming begins, so the print residue is properly conditioned. The hotplate stays off until conditions are right.
The hotplate warms the cyanoacrylate and the fan circulates vapour evenly around the evidence. Contact time counts down on screen against the preset, with live humidity and temperature shown throughout.
The purge fan clears the remaining cyanoacrylate vapour through the carbon filter before the door unlocks, so the operator is not exposed when they open up. The run can then be transferred to USB.
The colour touchscreen puts the whole process in front of the operator, from selecting a cycle to calibrating the humidity probe. Presets can be adjusted in seconds, and two user-defined cycles sit alongside the standard one.
Reproducibility and documentation matter as much as the result, particularly for laboratories working to accreditation standards. The CA-PRO is built so that every run can be tied to a case and an operator, and the conditions it ran under can be produced afterwards.
Cyanoacrylate fuming develops latent prints on non-porous surfaces such as glass, metal and plastics. These are the settings the CA-PRO is built for.
Routine, high-volume development of latent prints on recovered non-porous items, with a repeatable cycle that gives comparable results between operators and between shifts.
Where reproducibility and documentation have to be demonstrated, the logged cycle data, case and officer capture and calibration record all support the evidence trail.
Process items from seizure through to examination in one place, with the door locked during the cycle and the vapour purged before anyone opens up.
The taller models take bulkier exhibits on adjustable hanging rods and shelves, so items that will not fit a benchtop chamber can still be fumed properly.
Forensic science courses and in-force training benefit from a chamber that shows each stage on screen, so trainees can see what the process is actually doing.
Ductless and recirculating, so no ducting is required. On its stand with castors the chamber can be repositioned as the lab layout changes.
Choose the chamber to suit the exhibits you handle and the space you have. Custom builds are available where a specific size or fit-out is needed.
| Model | Width | Format | Typical use |
|---|---|---|---|
| CA-PRO-60 | 0.66m | Benchtop | Smaller exhibits, limited bench space |
| CA-PRO-90 | 0.9m | Benchtop or on stand | General casework, the popular size |
| CA-PRO-150 | 1.5m | Floor-standing | Larger volumes, bulkier and taller exhibits |
| Custom | Bespoke | To suit | Built to your size and fit-out |
All models share the same touchscreen control system, three-stage automated cycle, humidity and hotplate control, door lock, purge cycle and USB data logging. Supplied with humidifier, trays, shelf brackets and bars, prefilter, keys, manual and stylus. Full dimensions and datasheet available on request.
Cyanoacrylate vapour is not something to vent into the lab. At the end of every cycle the purge fan draws the chamber air through a carbon filter specified for cyanoacrylate, with a prefilter capturing particulate first, so nothing hazardous is released into the room.
The full cycle, parameters, diagnostics and calibration are driven from one screen, with on-screen help against each function.
Humidifying, vapourising and purging run in sequence without operator intervention, so every case is treated the same way.
The chamber holds relative humidity to setpoint, and the probe can be calibrated against a certified meter with the offset stored.
Hotplate temperature is held under PID control with an auto-tune routine and a safety cut-out, for consistent vapourising.
The door locks for the duration of the cycle with a lock alarm, and the UV lamps switch off automatically if the door is opened.
Timed UV lamps decontaminate the clean, dry chamber between cases, helping guard against carry-over between exhibits.
Cycle data is recorded against the case number and transferred out by USB or SD card for the file.
Recirculating design means no ducting to install, and the stand with castors lets the chamber be moved when needed.
A smooth, wipe-down chamber with removable trays, shelves and hanging rods to reposition around the exhibit.
