A freestanding downdraft bench that protects the operator during examination, sample preparation and reagent work. Widely used for forensic latent fingerprint development and equally suited to histology, clinical and research downflow work, it draws air down through the perforated work surface and recirculates clean, filtered air back into the room, so no ducting is required.
Protecting operators during examination and sample preparation, from forensic latent fingerprint development to histology, clinical and research downflow work. A range of filters lets the bench be matched to the chemicals in each application.
The Downflow Examination Bench is a freestanding downdraft bench for the safe examination, preparation and treatment of samples. In forensic laboratories it gives operators protection from ninhydrin and the powders used in developing latent fingerprints, and the same downflow design suits histology, clinical and research work where fumes, vapours or particulates need drawing away from the operator.
Low noise centrifugal fans draw air downwards through the stainless steel perforated work surface, and harmful fumes and dust pass through the unit's filters so clean air is recirculated back into the laboratory. There is no need for expensive ducting, the acrylic construction is easy to clean, and the bench is mobile so it can be moved where it is needed. Beyond forensic work, its downflow design makes it equally suited to general downflow tasks in clinical and research laboratories.
Purpose built for latent fingerprint development, the DEB keeps operators safe while giving a clear, well lit and comfortable working area.
An optional electronic pivoting worktop tilts the work surface up to a 45 degree angle at the touch of a button, bringing documents into a comfortable, ergonomic viewing and working position.
It makes close examination easier on the operator during long tasks, while downdraft extraction and containment continue to protect them throughout.
Air is drawn downwards through the perforated work surface by low noise centrifugal fans.
A durable, easy to clean stainless steel perforated work surface draws contaminants away from the operator.
Fumes and dust pass through the filters and clean air is returned to the laboratory, with no ducting required.
A range of carbon and HEPA filters so the bench can be matched to the chemicals in each application.
Fitted as standard, the alarm alerts the operator if face velocity falls below 0.3 m/s.
Ductless construction on castors means the bench is easy to move and ready to plug in and use.
